Coastal Sands Counselling & Rehabilitation Services
Supporting recovery, functional improvement, and sustainable participation in work and life.
Most people recover from a concussion within two to four weeks. When symptoms continue beyond four weeks, this is known as persistent post-concussion symptoms (PPCS), sometimes called post-concussion syndrome (PCS). Research suggests this occurs in up to 10-25% of concussion cases and can significantly affect a person's ability to work, study, socialise, and function day to day.
There is no single cure for PPCS. An individualised, evidence based psychological approach addresses the psychological and behavioural factors that maintain symptoms and delay recovery.
